Donation from students being offered an introduction to Meditation
Donations to Jyoti Trust via The School of Philosophy and Economic Science.
The school supports The Irish Centre for Platonic Studies. This centre was established for the promotion of the study of Plato and the Platonic tradition within schools, universities, other educational bodies, nationally and internationally, and the creation of a general awareness within the nation and internationally of the importance of Plato and the Platonic tradition to human affairs at all levels. In furtherance of these aims and objectives the centre provides direct financial support to students and support staff in schools, universities, other educational bodies, nationally and internationally, who are engaged in the study or fostering of the Platonic tradition. It also supports seminars, conferences, publications and other means whereby the Platonic tradition may be promulgated.
Townley Hall was purchased by the School of Philosophy and Economic Science in 1993 and has played an important role in the spiritual development of students over the last 20 years. It has also been used for open events aimed at raising consciousness in society, e.g. Art in Action, Plato activities, Cultural Days. Built in 1799, it is a beautiful Georgian mansion overlooking the Boyne Valley and is one of Ireland’s architectural gems. The School has had to spend a considerable amount to conserve it and upgrade its facilities to meet health and safety requirements as well as much needed improvements. See Townley Hall.
